JOB TITLE:                 Duty Solicitor

LOCATION:                Greater Manchester
SALARY:                    Dependent on experience

THE ROLE:
A Top Tier team in Manchester have an exciting opportunity available for a Solicitor, Legal Executive or experienced Paralegal to join their team and gain exposure to some quality, complex work. The appointed Duty Solicitor will be required to advise at Police Stations in all cases, prepare cases at all levels of Court and undertake advocacy whilst at all times demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of criminal law, practices and procedures to include PACE. Police Station cover will be required and so Duty Solicitors hoping to be considered for this role must be in a position to cover a 24-hour Police Station duty rota. On this basis, this firm are unable to accommodate any home working arrangements.

THE CANDIDATE:
Applications are welcomed from qualified Solicitors, Legal Executives or experienced Paralegals who have at least 2 years’ PQE. In order to apply for this role applicants must be Police Station accredited and proficient in preparing cases at all levels of court and subsequently undertake advocacy at court in connection with these cases. Experience of Police misconduct matters would be advantageous. Candidates hoping to be considered for this role must have a thorough understanding of and be confident in their ability to put into practice Legal Aid Agency requirements.
