What checks do you carry out on your locum candidates?
eNL conduct checks on all locum candidates in line with government regulations.  We gain proof of professional qualifications, proof of identity and eligibility to work in the UK, we carry out equal opportunities and obtain at least 2 recent professional references.  Through obtaining this information we ensure the reliability and professionalism of our candidates.

What happens if my requirement changes?
The agreement you enter into has no formal notice period and therefore changes can be adapted to quickly.

Does a locum always work on an hourly rate?
There are 3 main ways a locum can work, either on an hourly basis, on a daily basis or on a fixed term contract.  Our consultants can advise the best way for you to employ a locum as each assignment has different requirements.

Why do individuals locum?
There are many reasons why individuals decide to become a professional locum.

Becoming a professional locum means that the locum can decide where and when they work, and for how long

Some locums choose to locum in order to fit around prior commitments.  They are able to decide when and where they work and which assignments they commit to.

End of Career
Many retired solicitors with a wealth of experience decide to locum as a way of continuing in the law after they retired from the commitment of full time employment.

Completing locum assignments is enjoyable – the locum gets to experience different caseloads, firms and locations whilst still maintaining their professional knowledge.

Many professional locums have worked in a variety of sectors and enjoy the different types of caseloads and environments.

Is there a minimum duration for an assignment?
There is no minimum or maximum duration for assignments.  We have helped firms find a candidate for a matter of days, up to long term 12 month assignments and beyond.
