Job Description
Head of Construction | Birmingham | National Law Firm | Partner Level
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Construction Partner to take the lead on the development and growth of a construction practice in Birmingham for a national law firm.
This is a strategic appointment for an established construction lawyer with a strong following and the ambition to build on an existing platform, develop client relationships and drive the next stage of the team's growth.
With the backing of a national firm, this role offers the opportunity to shape the direction of the practice, raise its profile in the market and build a team around a clear commercial strategy.
The Opportunity
The firm is looking to appoint a senior construction lawyer who can take ownership of the Birmingham offering, combining technical expertise with strong commercial judgement and a clear vision for growth.
You will have the opportunity to develop and implement a strategy for the practice, strengthen relationships with key clients and referrers, and identify new opportunities across the construction and wider real estate sectors.
An established following is essential for this appointment. The firm is also open to considering a team move for the right individuals looking for a new platform from which to grow.
The Role
Lead and develop the construction practice in Birmingham, setting the strategic direction for future growth.
Advise on a broad range of contentious and/or non-contentious construction matters, depending on your area of expertise.
Build on existing client relationships and develop new business opportunities across the construction, development and real estate markets.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across the firm's national network to maximise cross-referral opportunities.
Recruit, mentor and develop lawyers to support the expansion of the practice.
Play a key role in raising the profile of the construction team and strengthening its position in the Birmingham market.
Contribute to the wider strategic objectives of the firm as part of the partnership.
The Candidate
You will be an established Construction Partner with a strong reputation in the market, a demonstrable client following and the commercial drive to develop a successful practice.
You will have the credibility to lead from the front, the relationships to generate new opportunities and the vision to build a team capable of delivering sustainable growth.
The firm is keen to speak with individuals who are ready to take the next step in their leadership career and want the opportunity to make a genuine impact.
A team move is optional, but an established following is essential.
Why Consider This Role?
This is an opportunity to take a leadership position within a national law firm, with the platform, resources and wider network to support your ambitions. For the right individual, it offers the chance to shape a construction practice, influence its future direction and build a team around your own strategic vision.
