THE ROLE:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join a specialist cosmetic surgery negligence team in Manchester. This is a great opportunity for a Solicitor with some claimant clinical negligence experience who is looking to develop their expertise within a more specialist area of the market. Initially working closely with the Head of Department, you will gain hands on experience across a varied caseload while developing towards managing your own matters.
The work will involve investigating claims, reviewing medical records and expert evidence, preparing correspondence and legal documents, liaising with medical experts and Counsel and supporting matters through the pre-action process and litigation where required.
You will work on a range of interesting and complex claims, while building the technical knowledge and confidence needed to take increasing responsibility for your own caseload.

THE CANDIDATE:
The successful candidate will be a qualified Solicitor with up to approximately 5 years' PQE, although relevant experience will be considered alongside PQE. You will ideally have experience within claimant clinical negligence and a good understanding of the claims process. Strong analytical and drafting skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines are essential. A sensitive and empathetic approach to client care is particularly important, alongside strong written and verbal communication skills. Previous experience of litigated claims, medical expert evidence or cosmetic surgery negligence would be advantageous, but is not essential.
Most importantly, you will have a genuine interest in developing a specialist practice area and the enthusiasm to learn from an experienced practitioner.

The team has developed significant experience in this specialist area and offers a supportive environment where you will have the opportunity to learn directly from experienced practitioners and work on complex, high quality claimant matters
