Senior Associate | Court of Protection | West Midlands | Hybrid Working | Excellent Career Progression

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Court of Protection solicitor to join the highly regarded Private Client team of a leading regional law firm.

This is an excellent role for a Senior Associate looking to handle high-quality, complex Court of Protection work within a collaborative and supportive environment that genuinely invests in its people.

The Opportunity

You'll become an integral member of a specialist Court of Protection team, managing a varied caseload of complex matters involving property and financial affairs, together with health and welfare issues where appropriate.

Your work will include advising deputies, attorneys, trustees and family members on issues surrounding mental capacity, best interests and safeguarding, while providing practical, compassionate advice to vulnerable clients and those supporting them.

The caseload will include:
• Deputyship applications
• Property and financial affairs
• Health and welfare matters
• Statutory wills
• Contested Court of Protection proceedings
• Ongoing deputyship administration and reporting
• Mental Capacity Act 2005 advice
• Financial management and safeguarding matters

Alongside your own caseload, you'll play an important role in supervising junior lawyers, mentoring colleagues, contributing to business development initiatives and helping drive the continued growth of the Court of Protection practice.

About You

Applications are welcomed from solicitors with:
• Around 6 years' PQE or above (guideline only)
• Significant experience advising on Court of Protection matters
• Excellent knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005
• Strong client relationship and communication skills
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members
• A commercial and collaborative approach, with an interest in helping develop the department
