Legal Counsel
Location: Birmingham (Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office)
Salary: £54K - £64K

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join a high-performing in-house legal team supporting a complex and dynamic organisation delivering large-scale commercial projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working closely with stakeholders, influencing decision-making, and providing pragmatic legal advice across a broad range of matters.

The Role
Reporting into the senior legal leadership team, you will provide high-quality legal advice and support across a diverse portfolio of commercial, contractual and regulatory matters. Working with a high degree of autonomy, you will partner with colleagues at all levels of the business to help manage legal risk while enabling commercial objectives.
Key responsibilities include:

• Advising on a wide range of commercial and construction-related contracts, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating high-value, complex agreements.
• Providing legal support on procurement activities and contract management matters.
• Advising on contractual claims, disputes and risk mitigation strategies.
• Developing and delivering legal training to enhance business awareness and compliance.
• Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the organisation.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified Solicitor or Barrister with strong commercial legal experience and the ability to provide practical, business-focused advice.
You will ideally possess:

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister status in England & Wales.
• Strong experience in commercial contract law and/or procurement law.
• Experience negotiating and advising on complex commercial and construction contracts.
• The ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
