THE ROLE:
This is an opportunity for an experienced regulatory lawyer to join a well established regulatory organisation in a senior leadership role. The successful candidate will provide strategic oversight of complex regulatory casework managed by external legal providers, ensuring investigations and hearing preparation are conducted to the highest standards. Acting as a senior source of legal advice, you will guide complex, sensitive and high-risk matters while leading and developing a team of legal professionals.

The role also involves overseeing the quality, performance and compliance of external legal providers, using management information and performance data to drive effective case progression, resource planning and continuous improvement. Working closely with key internal and external stakeholders, the postholder will support governance and quality assurance initiatives, contribute to policy development and wider organisational strategy, and deputise for senior leadership as required.

THE CANDIDATE:
The successful candidate will be a qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a minimum of five years' experience and experience in Fitness to Practise within a regulatory environment. You will possess strong technical legal knowledge, sound judgement, and substantial experience advising on complex regulatory investigations and proceedings. The role requires skills in leadership and people management, previous experience managing external legal providers. Working within a public sector or regulatory setting would be advantageous.
