JOB TITLE: Healthcare Inquests Solicitor
PQE REQUIRED: 4+
LOCATION: Greater London
SALARY: £90K plus

THE ROLE:
A leading national firm is seeking an experienced Solicitor to join its well-established healthcare and public law team in London. This role will focus primarily on inquests work, advising NHS organisations and other health and social care providers on a broad range of legal issues arising from patient care and regulatory matters. You will represent clients at inquests, both jury and non-jury, including conducting advocacy where appropriate. The role also involves advising on wider healthcare and public law matters such as governance and constitutional issues, patient and public involvement requirements, judicial review and human rights considerations. You will also provide advice on patient complaints, serious incident investigations, Ombudsman matters, and broader regulatory and legislative issues affecting healthcare providers. Working closely with colleagues across the firm’s healthcare, public and regulatory teams, you will support clients through complex and often sensitive matters while contributing to the continued development of services and client relationships within the sector.

THE CANDIDATE:
The successful candidate will be a qualified Solicitor with proven experience handling healthcare inquests, including advocacy experience where possible. You will demonstrate a strong understanding of healthcare law and the regulatory landscape affecting organisations within the health and social care sector. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team. A proactive approach, strong client service skills and the flexibility to travel where required will be important. Experience of matters relating to Court of Protection or the inherent jurisdiction of the High Court would be advantageous but is not essential.

THE FIRM:
This is a nationally recognised firm with a highly regarded healthcare practice advising NHS bodies, private healthcare providers and insurers across a wide range of regulatory and advisory matters. The team has received significant industry recognition and is known for its specialist expertise, collaborative culture and commitment to delivering high-quality legal advice to clients operating within the healthcare sector.

PACKAGE:
Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package including annual bonus scheme, 25 days’ annual leave plus additional benefits days, private medical insurance options, pension scheme, wellbeing support and hybrid working. The firm also offers flexible working arrangements and structured training and development opportunities within a supportive and inclusive environment.
