JOB TITLE: Private Client Lawyer
PQE REQUIRED: 8+        
LOCATION: Newcastle Upon Tyne                
SALARY: Up to £60,000 DOE

THE ROLE:
This role involves leading the private client department at a highly respected Legal 500 firm, working closely with the Managing Partner to help shape strategy and drive strong departmental performance. You will manage a varied and high quality caseload covering wills, probate, estate administration and Court of Protection matters while providing hands-on leadership to inspire, mentor and develop a talented team. A key part of the role is promoting technical excellence, supporting ongoing professional development and maintaining the highest standards of client care. You will also ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory frameworks, helping to uphold and enhance the firm’s excellent reputation.

THE CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor with at least 8 years’ PQE in private client law, supported by proven leadership experience in supervising, mentoring and developing others. You will have strong technical expertise across wills, probate, estates, trusts and Court of Protection matters, alongside a strategic mindset and the ability to produce accurate, high quality work under pressure. Excellent communication skills and a calm, professional approach are essential, as is up to date knowledge of AML, GDPR and other key compliance requirements. This role would suit an ambitious, forward thinking leader who is motivated to play a key part in shaping the future growth of the department.
