Job Description

Legal Cashier, Taunton, £25,000+ (DOE) - This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to play a vital part in supporting the firm’s day-to-day financial operations and ensuring compliance with the SRA Accounts Rules. JOB REF:9981.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Process client and office account transactions with accuracy and timeliness
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure ledgers are up to date and error-free
• Issue invoices, manage payments, and chase overdue balances
• Maintain accurate financial records and assist with bookkeeping reviews
• Produce daily and monthly financial reports and support month/year-end processes
• Submit VAT returns through HMRC’s portal
• Liaise with fee earners, support staff, external auditors, suppliers, and banking providers
• Assist with general administrative tasks as needed

SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Previous experience as a Legal Cashier within a law firm (essential)
• Strong working knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with legal accounting software
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with integrity
