OVERVIEW:

Our client is a charity that is focused on scientific research, with a reputation for tackling enormous projects that will benefit humanity. They are looking for two Junior Lawyers to join their Legal and Governance team to support the ground-breaking progress being made.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• To draft, negotiate and provide legal advice on a wide range of agreements in compliance with internal policies and third party obligations, including research collaboration agreements, material transfer agreements, NDAs, data sharing agreements, etc..
• To provide legal support as needed to other functional teams within the organisation (e.g. Finance, IT, Procurement, Facilities Management).
• To lead on and work with colleagues as needed to provide appropriate frameworks to improve and standardise contractual processes and documentation, including proactively identifying and addressing opportunities for such improvements and standardisation.
• Keep abreast of legal developments and sharing relevant insights with colleagues in the Legal team.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
• Enthusiasm for our organisation’s charitable mission and focus on scientific research.
• Qualified as a solicitor in the UK (or equivalent in other jurisdictions) with experience in drafting and negotiating contracts.
• Demonstrable ability to give advice that strikes an appropriate balance between risk and benefits, taking into account legal considerations as well as the needs of our clients.
• Strong communicator with effective project management and/or time management skills.
• “Can-do” attitude focused on looking for solutions.
• Positive, open-minded with a flexible approach.
