JOB TITLE: Assistant Legal Cashier
LOCATION: Bedfordshire
EXPERIENCE: 2+ years
SALARY: Up to c£25,000 (£DOE)

THE ROLE:
Our client is currently looking for an experienced Assistant Legal Cashier with 2 years’ experience of working within a busy finance team. The appointed Legal Cashier will join a busy team and assist with all financial transactions generated by the firm as well as providing general account assistance to the wider firm. In this role as a Legal Cashier, your key duties will include:

• To undertake daily banking functions including bank reconciliations.
• The paying in and preparation of cheques on a daily basis.
• The administration and reconciliation of petty cash and nominal accounts. The processing of bank telegraphic transfers (TT’s).
• The processing of client and office accounting transactions including postings onto the firm’s accounts system
• Preparation of Month end reports and distribution to Partners and fee-earners.
• Full Management of the firm’s Payroll system and returns to HMRC.
• Financial management reporting as required.
• The preparatory work for the annual accounts.
• stationery and office supplies.
• Administration of the office insurance, practising certificates, professional indemnity
• insurance, and file reviews etc.

Applications are welcomed from candidates that have upwards of 2+ years’ experience as a Legal Cashier, an accountancy qualification is desired. Law firm accounts experience would be preferred however this is not essential. This role also requires excellent prioritisation, meticulous attention to detail as this will assist in the daily reconciliations on client accounts and help towards the general administrative duties.
