JOB TITLE: Legal Counsel
PQE REQUIRED: 2+

THE ROLE: Our client, a global, award winning, engineering company with a turnover in excess of £1 billion is looking for a proactive and positive Legal Counsel 2+ PQE to join their legal team.

You will have the opportunity to gain experience in a wide variety of legal disciplines including mergers and acquisitions, company law, contract reviews, construction law advice, software, technology, intellectual property, disputes, claims and insurance.

Responsibilities will include:
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, including consultancy agreements, framework agreements, NDAs, software licences and SaaS agreements.
• Advising the business on applicable laws and regulations.
• Revising and maintaining legal templates for use across the Group ensuring they reflect current best practice and legislation.
• Drafting and updating legal guidance to raise awareness of recurrent topics and new regulations.
• Advising the business on litigation and insurance matters, which may include liaising with outside counsel and technical experts.
• Assisting with Group projects including company formations and mergers and acquisitions.
• Supporting other parts of the Legal Department such as the Ethics & Compliance and Data Protection teams

The successful candidate will have practical commercial law experience gained in private practice or in-house. Excellent drafting, communication and negotiation skills. The ability to manage their own workload and be equipped with excellent teamworking skills as you’ll be advising key stakeholders on significant projects.

This role would preferably be based in Croydon, although as a business, they have embraced agile working and they will consider candidates, who are based in other locations around the UK, with a willingness to visit Croydon from time to time.
