JOB TITLE:                    Compliance Solicitor
EXPERIENCE:                 3+
LOCATION:                    Greater Manchester
SALARY:                        up to c£60,000 DOE

THE ROLE:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the successful management of this firm’s regulatory compliance and professional risk. This role has a particular focus on evaluating the firm’s compliance with the SRA handbook and other relevant regulations and legislation. The appointed Compliance Solicitor will work with the Legal Director and assist in specific investigations as appropriate, whilst identifying and analysing risks and assessing if the firm’s internal compliance controls and policies are operating effectively. Alongside this, the postholder will be required to provide support and training to build risk awareness in the firm, prepare regular reports, regularly review compliance policies, manage the firm’s quality accreditations and undertake regular audits.
 
THE CANDIDATE:
We want to hear from qualified Solicitors (or equivalent legal qualification) who have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing risk and compliance within a legal environment. Detailed knowledge and experience of the SRA and regulatory framework and associated rules and legislation is essential in order to be successful in this role. This firm’s ideal candidate will have strong analytical and influencing skills along with the confidence to take responsibility and work independently while keeping others informed and escalating issues where appropriate.
