JOB TITLE: Criminal Solicitor
EXPERIENCE: 3 + PQE
The Criminal Solicitor will undertake fee earning work for clients in the field of criminal law and will deal with all aspects of criminal work and represent the clients both in court and at the police station. To work in accordance with the office manual and always promote the firm in all areas, by always acting in an appropriate way as a member of the legal profession by complying with all professional requirements as set by the law society. Act as an advocate in court on a wide variety of cases, prepare cases for Crown Court and to represent clients at police stations, to act as a Duty Solicitor and work outside office hours as necessary. This firm will consider solicitors on a part time and full-time basis. They would also be open to engaging with consultant solicitors.
The successful solicitor will manage their own criminal caseload and assist the Head of Department in more complex matters. Applicants are welcomed from criminal solicitors with a proven track record in a wide range of criminal matters, you will need to have gained at least 3 years PQE experience as a qualified Duty Criminal Solicitor. You will need excellent management, communication and organisational skills, proficiency in IT and have a polite and patient manner. The role requires flexibility to travel and work from any of the firms five offices and attend courts at different locations. You will be passionate about this sector and motivated to provide practical and high-quality client service to all legal aid and private clients. Higher Rights of Audience would be desirable.
