On Friday 8th July, eNL Legal sponsored a race at Chester Races. Joined by Penny Trotman and Jon Smith, I travelled with guests to Chester to attend the Ladies and Gents Evening. Upon arrival, we headed to the Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) marquee to host our sponsored eNL table for an evening of horsing around! We were treated to a Champagne reception and tasty meal, whilst we studied form and placed bets with the Tote desk. The meal was perfectly timed so each course was served between the races to ensure we didn’t miss the action! The event-organisers had also included an auction, lots such as naming an Eddie Stobart lorry, meal in a top local restaurant and a VIP Tour of Old Trafford, were up for grabs with all proceeds going to the SIA. As sponsors of the final race, we were invited to the parade ring to judge the ‘Best Turned Out’ horse, awarding the prize to the groom of Shernando. The sponsors group were then escorted to the VIP section of the stands, along with owners, trainers and celebrity guests from "The Only Way is Essex" to watch the race. After an exciting 1 mile and 4 furlongs the race ended in an exciting photo finish with 2 lucky members of our party finishing the day with a win thanks to Bradbury, ridden by Tadhg O'Shea! The prizes were presented by Jon Smith, COO of the Network Group. Following a final glass of champagne with the winning owners and trainer, we headed for the M6 and a late drive home after what only can be described as a successful (and profitable for some!) evening.
