Interview
These points are here to assist you but prior to attending any interview arranged by eNL we undertake to provide you with crucial background information and the confidence to perform at your best.
- Thorough preparation and a positive attitude is key to a successful interview
- Prepare for the interview by researching the firm and consider how you would contribute to their success
- Be sure about the location of the Firm and the name of the person interviewing you
- Never be late – if for any reason you feel you will not be on time, you must call your consultant at eNL immediately.
- First impressions count, your appearance is important.
- Wear a suit to suggest a formal, professional approach, smile and display a positive attitude
- Shake hands firmly and maintain eye contact, remain composed
- Be alert but natural, sit up straight and show you are interested, be aware of your body language
- Answers questions clearly and demonstrate confidence, always ask for clarification if you are unsure
- During the interview discuss your strengths and achievements rather than dwelling on negative issues, ensure that the tone of the interview remains positive and support your reasons for making a career move
- Always make sure that you have some well thought out questions to ask
- Ensure that you are prepared to answer any questions relating to salary/package expectations if asked
- Ensure you allow sufficient time for the interview and any travelling involved
If you cannot attend a pre-arranged interview, please notify us as soon as possible

- Tell me about your specialism?
- What are your major strengths and weaknesses?
- What do you know about the company and why would you like to work for us?
- Tell me about your achievements?
- How well do you work under pressure?
- Give me an example where you have used your initiative?
- How would you describe your working relationship with your colleagues?
- What are your personal and career goals?
Example questions you could ask at the interview
- Why has the position arisen?
- What is the structure of the department?
- What are the career prospects?
- Will there be any training and development opportunities?
- How will my success be measured in this role?
- What are the Firms plans for the future
At the end of the interview shake hands firmly, thank the interviewer for their time, express your continued interest in the position and the Firm, be positive and leave a pleasing impression.
