The REC is the representative body for the UK's £27 billion private recruitment and staffing industry, with an  IRP (Institute of Recruitment Professionls) membership of more than 39,000 corporate members comprising of agencies and businesses from all sectors and individual members.  As recruitments biggest lobbying voice, the IRP's mission is to be recognised as the informed choice of the recruitment community, influencing government and business today for the benefit of Members and the employment market of tomorrow. to uphold those standards and improve the understanding and practice of excellent recruitment by establishing legal and ethical frameworks for the recruitment profession.

As a member of the Institute of Recruitment Professionals, we  have access to the REC's library of research, white papers and reports, which allows eNL  to benchmark our performance  and gives us updated information and useful outlooks and predictions on the recruitment industry as a whole. Standards are crucial to the recruitment profession because they ensure that robust ethical principles are applied consistently during the recruitment process. IRP standards start with the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct to which all members of the Institute must adhere to.
